DA's Team Rocket Crew

Wed Jun 7, 2006, 1:14 AM
Welcome to the one and only (to my knowledge) Team Rocket Crew on DA!

Want to join? It's simple! Just leave a comment here saying who you want to be. Any Rocket member at all counts- anime, CD dramas, Pokemon cards, specials, movies. Also, any Rocket member's Pokemon counts (so if you want to be Meowth or Wobuffet, just go ahead and ask, provided they're not already taken). If you're not sure who counts and who doesn't, just ask. Most likely, they do.

Once you've claimed somebody and I give you the go ahead, put this in your signature and/or journal (be sure to replace all of the []'s with < >'s):

[a href="http://heathah.deviantart.com/journal/8985653/"]I am (Team Rocket member's name) in DA's Team Rocket Crew![/a]

By the way, there is no committment here. Just a simple character claim-and-be-proud thing. However, if you WANT to draw fan art of your character, I'd love to see it. Just link me! Rocket art is always refreshing.

LOL, HI EVERYONE, I'M BACK DID YOU MISS ME? NO. :D LOL XD

I apologize in advance for the stupidity of this entry, if there is any. I pretty much got about 3 hours of sleep last night.

So, I've been gone a while. Not from home. Just from DA. I dunno, I get tired of all the "Cool pic; draw me something"s. I mean, yes, people are aware they're supposed to pay (or at least they -should- be... >>;), but Iunno... I hate disappointing people by saying no, I'm not doing commissions. XD;;; So I run away. Yeah, I'm aware that makes NO sense- but when did I ever say it had to? Haha. It's social anxiety- GET USED TO IT. :O!!

So yeah, no commissions. Don't ask. Or else I will eat your arms with steak sauce. Yum (LOL, can you tell I'm tired? I wouldn't be talking this way if I wasn't).

Anyway, sooo... let me see. Well, AP art is over, finally. My Rodeo piece went to auction... Picked up $14,000 (I only got to keep $1,000 of it, though. >>;; ). (: My VASE piece went to state and got NOTHING and that was pretty much the worst day of my life. ): I cried. My Scholastic Art piece is hanging in Texas Children's Hospital right now... which is like, a huge honor, I dunno if you know. XD

All of my shiz is turned in for AP art. Now I just wait... for hopefully a FIVE, bebe (psh, yeah right). Oh, duh! I've GRADUATED too! Haha, awesome. NO MORE HIGHSCHOOL. I graduated with honors- top 5%. I'm number 37 out of 872. PWNZ KAY. :D

I have a graduation party coming on the 24th... and HOLLY IS COMING TO IIIIIIITTTT!!! *DANCES* I'm SO SO SO excited you can't believe. XDD I'd type more, but mother is ushering me out the door. :P I must leave! I'm going to buy PRISMACOLOR MARKERS! Yay. X3

Bye!

Sail awayyyy!

I bet you thought I died. Hehe.

So yes, I'm having a bang up year in art. My Rodeo piece ("Is It Greener on That Side?") is currently at the Rodeo, and I find out saturday whether or not it's going to auction... and the judges, I found out, actually remember my piece, lol (I know this because at VASE, the guy that judged my band piece actually was on the judging pannel for the Rodeo pieces, and when I described my piece to him, he REMEMBERED IT, lol. Incidentally, he also works for the Art Institute of Houston, which is where I'd like to begin my post-secondary education. XD Go figure on my good luck). So good chances there.

My alphabet piece ("Identify Me") won a Scholastic Gold Key. I attended the ceremony on Valentines day, and I actually got a scholarship to the Glassel Junior School of Art. I'm supposed to attend a class in the summer. I'm thinking about taking painting, because that is my weak spot. Anywho, that piece is now in New York City where it's being judged nationally. If it wins something, I get to go to NYC for a banquet. I seriously DOUBT it's that good, but everytime I say that to someone, they get mad at me, so uh... here's hoping, I guess. XD

Lastly, my band piece ("Tempered Steel") has made it to state VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event, for those of you curious- it's a Texas thing). On April the 8th, I get to attend a day of workshops, followed by the awards ceremony there to see if I've won anything extra, since of course, I'll be competing with artists across the state. Here's hoping there too, heh.

In process, I currently have a couple of pieces honoring the Olympics, because of how much the winter Olympics always do for my inspiration and spirit, heh (still sad they're over *sigh*). One's a stippling piece of snowboarder Danny Kass (which is almost done- I just have to fix a blotch on it, and stipple an American flag in the background, because the background kinda looks empty to me), and the other is a mixed media/mosaic experiment with figure skating. It doesn't feature anyone particular; just a random figure skating woman. I'm excited for both pieces, because they both look really good. :)

I've recently turned in my CSSSA application. I'm currently very excited and nervous about the results. I think I'll cry miserably if I don't make it in, and scream and nearly die of happiness if I do. Haha. Hopefully I don't have a heart attack. XD

Anywho, it's spring break this week, and since I am a senior, we've decided to celebrate all out, so I'm going on a cruise with my friends! I won't be back til Saturday, but that's the day I find out about the rodeo stuff, so who knows when I'll actually be online again.

I mostly wanted to make this journal so I could quit avoiding DA. I want everyone to know that I don't hate them, lol. I've just been doing other things with my life lately. But I eventually always come back around. In the mean time, you know you can always contact me on AIM if you wanna talk to me that bad. :P xBohemian Firex. Oh, and to those of you trying to contact me for commissions- now's not a good time, luvs. XD; I'm trying to get finished with my AP art portfolio. Ech. Sorry.

Anywho, I'll see you all around! Later!

Whooaaa. I can see the inside of my head.

*headdesk* I've been slaving away on Rodeo art for like, ever. I had been doing it in small incriments until now, because it's due like... now (I had to get an extension on it). So like, those of you that either have commissions, collabs, or are simply wondering why I'm not updating, welcome to my hell. I hate rodeo art. I damn sure as hell better get a scholarship, because I am wasting my life on this creativityless piece of crap (it's by far not a piece of crap by how it looks- I'm doing such meticulous work. I'm just calling it a piece of crap because I hate rodeo art. They want you to copy a photo exactly, so there's no room for creativity, and the medium I'm best with is prismacolor, so that's what I chose... so... well, surely some of you know how NOT FUN it is to fill a 15x20 board with layers upon layers upon layers of prisma to try to duplicate the quality of a photo... Ugg it's making my brain explode).

In other news, this is going to be a very busy month for me. I need to create a piece for V.A.S.E., as well as get my pieces done for my portfolio application into CSSSA.

Incidentally... Does anyone know where I can download flash to create my animations? I've always wondered, and I can never find it. I notice some of you have it. If you could do me a huge favor and PLEASE tell me where to download the program... part of my portfolio requires that I submit an animation of at least 25 frames, and I'd rather try doing it on flash so I can just send in a disk or something, as opposed to sending in 25 little sheets of paper x.x

Oh, I never said it here, but one of my pieces was awarded a gold medal at state and sent to the national level of the Scholastic art competition. I've no idea how it's doing right now... They better be taking good care of it. :P In case you missed viewing it when I submitted it, it is here.

Lovely... I think that's it. Catch you all around!

Thanks a ton for those who replied to the last journal entry with help. :) I've been busy the past week so I haven't really had time to post responses, but I appreciate you veddy much! *hughugs*

Also, thanks to Fluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutttteeeee for catching my 7k. ^___^ If you want a lil sumthin sumthin, jis lemme know, kay?

I have another question.

Does anyone know of any good PS gradient tool tutorials? (I think that's what artists are using these days) I love that effect on cartoonish things, but I'm not too sure how to use it... Thanks. :) Oh, and while you're at it, any particularly amazing PS tutorials? Always looking to broaden my horizons. *shrugs* Again, thanks. X3
